𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗲𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗶𝗽𝘂𝘇𝗸𝗼𝗮   The agri-food and livestock industries generate a significant amount of organic waste. Using this waste as a raw material to produce biogas helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improves waste management and makes it an energetic use.   As part of a collaboration agreement financed by the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, the CEIT Technology Center carried out a feasibility study for a biomethanization plant for the management and treatment of industrial organic waste generated in Gipuzkoa. As part of this project, IDOM was entrusted with the development of the design and financing scheme of an anaerobic digestion plant for the production of biogas/biomethane, CO2 capture and valorization, and the production of fertilizer from the digestate.   The project draws on IDOM's extensive experience in similar projects, covering both technical and economic aspects. The activities developed included:    - Analysis of the regulatory aspects applicable to anaerobic digestion plants for biogas/biomethane generation, CO2 capture and valorization and fertilizer generation from digestate. - Selection of the main design criteria and characteristics. - Analysis of possible emissions, effluents and waste generated. - Process flow diagram. - Mass and energy balances of the plant. - Definition of a preliminary plot plan and required footprint. - General layout, elevations and maximum height of infrastructure. - Basic 3D rendering model (LOD100), perspectives and main external volume of buildings and equipment. - Financial model: estimation of CAPEX, OPEX and GATE-FEE.   #OrganicWaste #SustainableDevelopment #Biogas

This project, located in Brusubi and financed by the World Bank, is part of a national strategy to strengthen the country's health infrastructure. On May 6, we had the opportunity to participate in the Second Innovation Seminar for the Railway Industry, organized by Metro de Santiago on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. It was an enriching day that brought together different actors of the railway ecosystem to reflect together on the challenges of public transport in a city in constant evolution. From IDOM, we presented the paper "Intelligent Mobility: Innovations and Challenges of Urban Transport", where we shared international experiences, success stories and emerging technologies that are changing the way we think about urban mobility. Our proposal was clear: transportation must be seen not just as infrastructure, but as an intelligent, sustainable and human-centered platform. We firmly believe that innovation and knowledge are the key to opening up new opportunities, especially for scientific and technological entrepreneurship. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸   We’re proud to have contributed our technical expertise to the development of the Emerging Preferred Route (EPR) for the Luas Cork Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, which is now open for public consultation until Monday, June 9th at 5:30 PM. The selection of the emerging preferred route is the result of an analysis of the best tramway solutions for the City of Cork, taking into technical, environmental, urban integration, resilience and durability parameters.   As part of the team alongside Jacobs and SYSTRA, IDOM played a key role from the early design phases, drawing on our extensive international experience to provide during the screening and evaluation of area options, developing concept designs for the end-to-end route alternatives, and collaborating on the multicriteria analysis that informed the selection of the EPR.   The proposed 18 km light rail line will connect some of Cork’s most important destinations, including MTU, Cork University Hospital, UCC, Kent Station, the City Centre, the Docklands, Blackrock, and Mahon. The project includes significant infrastructure features such as a new public transport bridge, dedicated cycling facilities, a 1,000-space Park & Ride facility in Ballincollig, and a Mobility Hub in Mahon.   Projects like Luas Cork demonstrate how integrated and sustainable transport solutions can contribute to Ireland's climate change goals, and we are delighted to be part of this journey by contributing our expertise in mobility planning and engineering.
