Yesterday, during Seville’s April Fair, we hosted "Diálogos de energía desde el albero" at Fundación Valentín de Madariaga y Oya—a forum that brought together key voices in the industry to explore the major trends and challenges facing the energy sector. 🗣️ Jorge Paradela, Regional Minister of the Consejería de Industria, Energía y Minas, emphasized the strategic role of renewables—“the oil Spain never had”—and outlined the region’s goal to reach 20 GW of installed capacity by 2026. He also stressed the need for stronger transmission infrastructure and greater investment in storage. 🗣️Armando Zuluaga, General Director at Ferrovial Infrastructure, called for a unified national regulatory framework to provide clearer permitting timelines and ensure the bankability of energy projects. 🗣️David Martín, Co-CEO at Tikehau Capital Iberia, reaffirmed the importance of investing in renewable energy and creating a stable environment that encourages long-term growth. 🗣️Our CEO, Manuel Losada Friend, highlighted that advancing in technology and storage is essential to building a resilient, flexible, and efficient power system—especially in the face of growing global complexity. The discussion also included a valuable contribution from the audience by Rafael Sánchez Durán, PhD, General Director of Endesa in Andalusia and Extremadura, who called for greater investment in grid infrastructure to keep pace with the region’s renewable potential.
