A taste of Queensland’s famous beef in Shenzhen. 🥩 We hosted The Chef’s Table event with Meat & Livestock Australia at Stone Sal restaurant, which is launching a special Queensland menu for the next month. Owner Chef Ling is no stranger to Queensland beef – he visited the state as part of the Aussie Beef Mates program. He was ed by Queensland Global Connector Heidi Dugan for a cooking demonstration for stakeholders and the Taste of Queensland delegation from HOFEX. China's beef consumption reached 11.4 million tonnes in 2024, with increasing demand for imports of Queensland’s high-quality beef. Queensland’s beef exports were valued at more than $8 billion in 2023-24, with the product sold to more than 60 countries. Officially open for business in Shenzhen! TIQ’s Shenzhen office has been inaugurated by Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates MP RN at a Friends of Queensland reception. The new office expands Queensland’s presence in China's Greater Bay Area, a priority in the Queensland-China Trade and Investment Strategy. Queensland and Guangdong Province have a strong collaborative relationship, g a Friendship State agreement in 2008. Brisbane and Shenzhen have also had a sister city agreement since 2012. With offices now in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, TIQ is building local partnerships, ing clients face-to-face and tapping into trade and investment opportunities across the region. Queensland expertise on show at Hong Kong’s new world-class venue. 🏟️ The state-of-the-art Kai Tak Sports Park was designed by Queensland’s global leader in sports architecture, Populous. The 50,000-seat Kai Tak Stadium opened earlier this year and has already hosted the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament and Coldplay concerts. The fully integrated sports, recreation and entertainment park also features the 10,000-seat Kai Tak Arena and 5000-seat Youth Sports Ground. The Taste of Queensland pavilion is back at HOFEX 2025! It was officially opened by Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates MP RN and our CEO Justin McGowan. 15 Queensland companies are exhibiting at the trade show, which has attracted more than 1,200 exhibitors from more than 27 countries and over 30,000 buyers. Not only is Hong Kong a hub for international trade and a gateway to Mainland China, it’s an important export market for Queensland. This marks Queensland’s return after six years away from HOFEX, which is one of the largest food, beverage and hospitality trade shows in Asia. Their proposed t venture aims to enhance the capability of the sustainable technology sector by establishing a new base for advanced battery storage manufacturing in Queensland.
