Here's how you can navigate resistance from your boss during a change initiative.
I would add the following: 0. Validate organizational fit Not all change initiatives are a good fit for any given organization. There is no such thing as free or perfect change. Have similar organizations benefited from a similar change initiative? How? What were the costs and the risks and how were they managed? Have similar organizations failed at achieving the change benefits? Why? Can we improve on managing the change costs and risks? Finally, as much as you may think a change initiative is good, be ready to change your mind and adapt if confronted with hard evidence.
