How do you become an information technology development team lead?
The first step is to try to get a clear idea of our own weaknesses and strengths. Some people are natural leaders, with great empathy and ability to connect with people, but that is not enough to be a good leader. We need to be objective and take note of the points we need to improve, then we can learn, practice and grow, step by step. With a good starting point, we should try to have clear goals: what kind of leader do I want to be? What technology would I like to master? Will I work more on the team or on the code? Well, everyone should ask themselves those questions and work towards those goals. As we discussed before, keep in touch with other leaders, their experiences are really helpful in the process.

How do you become an information technology development team lead?
Being a leader is a big responsibility, learning from other leaders and sharing our experiences allows us to be better in all aspects. Some may have better technical skills, others may be better at soft skills, but the idea is to be open to acknowledge our own mistakes, work on them and share the experience with others. Sometimes the word “leader” involves the illusion of power, someone who knows everything and never fails – that simply doesn’t exist, we are all humans and we need to that we are very good at working closely with other humans (and probably new AIs soon).

How do you become an information technology development team lead?
One of the first things that came to my mind is what is the difference between a leader, a boss or a manager. When we need a leader, we need someone to believe in, someone who inspires us to be better and grow, someone who helps us and allows us to help him. In this regard, when we need to take on a leadership role, we need to have confidence in the team and openly share our strengths and weaknesses. Those weaknesses are opportunities to learn and grow, as leaders and together as a team, our strengths should be transmissible to others. Just like the musketeers, one for all, all for one.
