    Achieving the highest level of quality for software product is a continuous challenge for the quality team in order to keep up with frequent changes and encourage the development of creative and innovative solutions, the approaches to the development of software always needed to be reinvented. A new approach to increase the chances of achieving the ideal quality level of development of software, nowadays is the collaborative system named hackathon. Initially created to be an event that programmers collaborate intensively on software projects, it has expanded to others several areas, encouraging of experimentation and creativity between the different layers of teams and s aiming one main objective: problem solution with short time and engaged individuals.

    In this paper, the concept of test hackathon will be introduced on its essence. We are going to present events that are using the method around the world, such as Testathon Competiton and the Software Test World Cup. Right after, a detailed how-to is going to be demonstrated, focusing the steps to obtain success to hold the event. Finally, strengths and obstacles encountered in implementing the test hackathon are going to be discussed with an analysis of the pros and the cons regarding the activity.menos
