Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is tell the hard truth. Empathy without ability is abandonment. ability without empathy is abuse. The magic is in between. A Framework: 1. Truth First: - "I see you're struggling" - "Here's where we're missing the mark" - "This is what's at stake" - Clear. Direct. Human. 2. Understanding Next: - "Talk to me about the barriers" - "What are you missing?" - "Where are we failing you?" - Listen. Learn. Adapt. 3. Path Forward: - "Here's what needs to happen" - "Here's how I'll help" - "Here's what's non-negotiable" - Specific. Timebound. Clear. The secret? Strong boundaries are safety. Clear expectations are kindness. Don't skip the hard talks. Master them.
