    Networking and photo-sharing services, such as Instagram, allow their s to express themselves in many different ways. A particular way of expression being increasingly adopted by of these services is to share photos that show their latest looks and clothes. As a result, such services are becoming major sources of inspiration, with s looking for others with similar clothing style
    and fashion sense. In this paper we address the task of learning meaningful representations for Instagram s, so that s with similar apparel styles are nearby in a common metric space. We follow a semi-supervised procedure in order to learn such representations. First, a large number of unlabeled photos are presented to an unsupervised auto-encoder which learns intermediate representations. Then, a small number of labeled photos are used to improve the representations. We report encouraging experimental results on segmenting Instagram s based on their clothing styles.
