The importance of radiology in modern medicine is acknowledged for its non-invasive diagnostic capabilities, yet the manual formulation of unstructured medical reports poses time constraints and error risks. This study addresses the common limitation of Artificial Intelligence applications in medical image captioning, which typically focus on classification problems, lacking detailed information about the patient's condition. Despite advancements in AI-generated medical reports that incorporate descriptive details from X-ray images, which are essential for comprehensive reports, the challenge persists. The proposed solution involves a multimodal model utilizing Computer Vision for image representation and Natural Language Processing for textual report generation. A notable contribution is the innovative use of the Swin Transformer as the image encoder, enabling hierarchical mapping and enhanced model perception without a surge in parameters or computational costs. The model incorporates GPT-2 as the textual decoder, integrating cross-attention layers and bilingual training with datasets in Portuguese PT-BR and English. Promising results are noted in the proposed database with ROUGE-L 0.748, METEOR 0.741, and NIH CHEST X-ray with ROUGE-L 0.404 and METEOR 0.393. Mostrar menos

In Brazil, a current health problem is the low capacity of meeting an increasing demand for medical services. As a result, some people have resorted to supplementary health care, which involves the operation of private health plans and health insurance. However, many health maintenance organizations (HMO) face financial difficulties due to unnecessary procedures, fraud or abuses in the use of health services. In order to avoid unnecessary expenses, the HMO began to use a mechanism called prior authorization, where a prior analysis of each 's need is made to authorize or deny the required requests. This work aims to study the influence of the use of textual features in automatic prior authorization evaluation, by using Text Mining, Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques. Experiments were performed using several machine learning algorithms combined with textual features, increasing the performance of the automatic prior authorization. In a Health Plan, beneficiaries can cancel their contracts at any given time. For that reason, Health Insurance/Plan Providers (HIP) need to avoid optional contract cancellations to keep their financial operations stable. This work's main purpose is to develop an approach to predict the optional contract cancellation in a Private HIP and help them to prevent those cancelations.

Como uma possível solução para tal problema, alguns sites utilizam filtros baseados nas notas dadas pelos usuários em seus reviews. No entanto, essa prática pode resultar em usuários utilizando as notas como um artifício para obter destaque. Este trabalho propõe um método automático para analisar a importância de medidas a partir dos reviews com a intenção de predizer a nota dos usuários. Realizou-se um experimento com cinco filmes de gêneros diferentes e conjuntos de reviews definidos por três limiares. O experimento mostrou que os melhores resultados foram obtidos com o limiar 0,5 e as medidas de maior importância foram: quantidade de sentenças, quantidade de críticas e corretude do review.
