«I’ve had the pleasure to work with Joaquin over the last year and can confidently say that he’s one of the most thoughtful, humble and skilled engineers I've ever worked with. He ed our team as a senior back end engineer and was able to quickly ramp up and start making contributions from day 1! His experience and expertise allowed him to integrate with our team and processes smoothly, understand the complexities of our systems and dive in every challenge thrown his way. There was no challenge too big for Joaquin. His dedication and work ethic, can-do attitude and the fact that he truly enjoys taking ownership of his work meant that he consistently delivered holistic, well thought out and impeccably executed solutions. As a PM what I also personally appreciated when collaborating with Joaquin is his structured thinking, attention to detail and his ability to clearly and effectively communicate with the entire team. His kindness and empathy are qualities that were also highlighted through his work making him truly a high caliber collaborator. What’s also rare and something that I certainly valued is that Joaquin went above and beyond to properly document his work in a way that allowed everyone on the team to get up to speed at any point during a sprint thus facilitating a more inclusive and efficient async collaboration between our remote and distributed teams. Working with a great engineer was the expectation everyone had, but working with an amazing and kind human as well was the cherry on top. Even though our time together was cut short, Joaquin has managed to make a huge impression on not just me, but the entire team and management. He was an invaluable member to our team that genuinely earned everyone’s trust and respect.
