In my experience, a good way to start is to look at the associates population at all levels in order to understand how closely it reflects the demographics of the place where the organization operates. As a second step, evaluate internal knowledge of DEI among associates and leaders, to then be able to find out what we need to create an inclusive architecture, which is a process of educating associates, reviewing hiring processes, infrastructure evaluation and of course gaining sponsorship from senior leadership, among others.
