    Whenever electromechanical products such as industrial printers fail it is very common by the technical to try to solve the problem by making several attempts of replacing internal components or reconnecting them in other places in the product until the problem is fixed. This creates 2 problems: •It is not possible to identify which components were actually replaced or reconnected (in other connector) to solve a particular problem reported by the product •It is not possible to get information about the life time or usage pattern until failure of component types since it not possible to tell if the same physical component is still there This disclosure describes a solution to track which components are connected to electromechanical products such as industrial printers. When a component is connected to a electromechanical product , it will start to send wireless (e.g. RFID) signals containing information about its status including printer connectivity (connected or not), serial number, fabrication date, first-usage date, last-usage date and component description. The proposed solution makes it possible to implement root cause analysis for a device and also failure predictors, that use the data described above to be trained to anticipate a fail event before it happens.
