GHD-optimal queries in compact space
The aim of this project is to research if it’s possible to develop a more efficient GHD-optimal algorithm in graph databases using succinct data structures. Our intention is to propose a method of solving cyclic queries that arise in the generalized hypertree decomposition (GHD), requiring less resources to store intermediate results than the current standard, while guaranteeing worst-case optimality.

As part of the Ocean Hackathon 2023 I implemented a website that displayed the predicted abundance of krill in the coming years, in different climate change scenarios (the prediction model was developed by other team ) in an interactive map of the Antarctic penninsula, along with other geospatial data crucial to stakeholders. Our team was the runner up in the international competition.
