    Research project that consisted in building a shared workspace for vital sign monitoring of patients being transported in an ambulance. That information is collected using embedded devices and sensors and then sent in real-time to a smartphone or a cloud service. The cloud service hosts a web application allowing both the patient and doctor in charge to monitor health status. This intends to shorten the gap between the patient and the doctor, and make the person feel a sense of security that he or she is being taken care of constantly, even when not at the hospital.
    A mobile application connects to the hardware device via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and displays real-time information on screen. This allows medical staff to monitor the patient and be aware of the critical vital signs and how the change.

    The technologies used throughout the building process:
    - Hardware prototyping devices, including .NET Gadgeteer, BioHarness Zephyr, Arduino and Intel Galileo.
    - 3D printing
    - Cloud services and Web frameworks
    - Android Development

    The devices were tested with patients that had to be transported to another medical facility due to their conditions.
