The 28th São Paulo International Motor Show (Figure 1) was held in São Paulo Brazil, from 30th October to 9th November, with the most known auto companies presenting new vehicles and concepts, over than half of a million people saw those novelties over the ten days of the event.

These initiatives, however, especially the smaller ones, operate without any advertising to report their activities or its existence, which makes hard to attract interested people. Thinking about this situation, we propose the development of an online platform to catalogue humanitarian projects, initially from…
In developing countries, like Brazil, it is common the activity of non-governmental organizations or local initiatives to meet social needs that the government is not able to provide. These initiatives, however, especially the smaller ones, operate without any advertising to report their activities or its existence, which makes hard to attract interested people. Thinking about this situation, we propose the development of an online platform to catalogue humanitarian projects, initially from within our university (UNESP Bauru) and expanding afterwards to our state (Sao Paolo). The platform will include a projects database, allowing periodic publication of information on ed projects. To fill this database initially, a survey of all existing humanitarian projects in the region will be made. These projects will have metadata like: keywords, sites of operation, type of activities and others, grouping them by categories. With those filters, interested people will be able to easily find the right humanitarian project to their interests or nearby their location, for example. The platform will allow communication and collaboration between volunteers, so that volunteers can keep being informed of current project activities, coordination for donations and partnerships, allowing people to interact in the various parts of these processes.

The demand for engineers has always been high in growing countries, however, the world's seventh largest economy, Brazil, is still far from being one of the places with highest development in engineering. Through the normal curricula, high school students often learn theory only and investment is not made in the practical part, as a consequence the interest in engineering is low. Creating a design focused on the practical application of basic concepts of mathematics, physics and chemistry using simple materials and with an easy access to high school students is really important, as the goal is to get them interested in the field of science and technology and this action will improve their quality of life. The motivation and realization of an engineer will cause changes to society. The development of humanitarian engineering projects can help in the reduction of the number of social problems such as slums, sanitary issues - which are very common in global cities like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro – and water shortage – this kind of problem happens in cities located in the Brazilian Northeast Region – as there isn’t a proper water distribution system.

This paper has the main objective to present an assessment of critical variables used in safety analysis of aircraft parallel approaches in CSPA (Closed Space Parallel Approach) concept, mapping the landing risk factors and the adopted technologies in CSPA. The CSPA concept involves a broad range of technologies and procedures to allow aircraft landings in runways whose minimum distances are between 750 and 4300 feet. In this set of technologies studied in this paper, there are: ILS, PRM, SOIA, RNP, ADS-B andSBAS alternatives. These sets of alternatives are mapped to risk factors, such as: aircraft positioning, communication errors, controller errors and pilot errors. After the mapping phase, its possible to extract the critical variables used in safety analysis for CSPA technologies. A discussion about this mapping, the CSPA options and their risk factors are made, along with an analysis about the use of these critical variables in modeling landing scenarios and their importance to construct generic models for safety analysis.
