Cold Chain Logistics Senior Executive

Role Summary & Objectives

Manage and oversee the outsourced (3PL) storage and distribution of temperature-sensitive vaccines in Chile, ensuring operational efficiency, cold chain integrity, and strict compliance with Chilean ISP regulations (NT 147, NT 208) and GDP standards. Guarantee product quality and availability while meeting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage relationships, performance (SLAs/KPIs), contracts, and audits of the designated pharmaceutical 3PL partner.

• Oversee 3PL execution of order fulfillment (receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch) and transportation.

• Ensure and 3PL adherence to cold chain requirements (2-8°C, other temps as needed) through monitoring data review and process oversight.

• Manage investigation, documentation, and resolution of temperature excursions in collaboration with QA and the 3PL.

• Guarantee 3PL compliance with ISP NT 147, NT 208, GDP, and other relevant Chilean regulations.

• Oversee 3PL maintenance of compliant documentation (temp logs, qualifications, calibrations, etc.).

• Liaise with internal stakeholders (QA, Planning, Commercial, Finance).

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with the 3PL for efficiency, cost, and compliance.

• Managing logistics costs, budgets, and 3PL invoicing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Engineering, or related field.

• 3-5 years' experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare logistics/supply chain management, preferably within Chile.

• Proven, in-depth knowledge of cold chain logistics principles, technologies, and best practices.

• Demonstrated, thorough understanding of Chilean ISP regulations: Norma Técnica 147 and Norma Técnica 208, and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).

• Experience managing 3PL providers, including SLA/KPI monitoring and contract oversight.

• Familiarity with WMS/TMS/ERP systems.

• Fluency in Spanish; Professional proficiency in English.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Químico Farmacéutico (QF) professional qualification (Highly Preferred).

• Direct experience in vaccine logistics and distribution.

• Certifications in GDP, Cold Chain Management, Supply Chain (e.g., APICS), or IATA CEIV Pharma.

• Experience working directly with the ISP or ing regulatory inspections.

• Internal: Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Planning, Commercial, Finance.

• External: Primary interface with 3PL Partner Management, potentially ISP/Regulatory Bodies during audits, and the customers
