Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong e-commerce background to design and implement a robust data architecture that meets the organization's analytical and reporting needs. This role will focus on ensuring data is accurately modeled, well-documented, and optimized for use by the Business Intelligence (BI) team, ensuring consistent and high-quality information delivery. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud technologies, paired with effective experience working with e-commerce data and platforms. You should have a deep understanding of e-commerce data structures, customer journey analytics, and marketplace data patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain optimized data models to analysis and reporting.
- Develop and implement ETL/ELT workflows to integrate data from diverse sources, including APIs, web scraping, and file systems.
- Create and manage database objects such as views, stored procedures, and triggers to streamline data processing.
- Establish and enforce data quality controls and validation frameworks.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, to BI team operations.
- Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to improve performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with data analysts to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance the performance and reliability of data pipelines.
- Adhere to best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
- Provide technical mentorship and to analytics team .
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce data ecosystems, including online marketplaces, product catalogs, customer journey, and transaction systems.
- Proven expertise in SQL and query optimization (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift).
- Advanced Python programming skills for ETL development and data manipulation.
- Strong proficiency in data modeling techniques (star/snowflake schemas, data vault).
- Demonstrated experience translating complex business requirements into efficient data structures and schemas.
- Proficiency in using Apache Airflow for process orchestration.
- Strong familiarity with AWS services (RDS, Redshift, Lambda, S3, etc.).
- Experience with API integrations and managing external data sources.
- Solid understanding of Git for version control.
- Demonstrated ability to develop automated and monitored workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Nice to have:
- Experience with data visualization tools and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks.
- Familiarity with real-time data processing solutions.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Expertise in advanced data modeling methodologies beyond dimensional modeling.
