¿Qué aspecto tiene realmente la adopción de la inteligencia artificial en el mundo real en Europa?
En el primer día de RAIS 2025, la profesora Andrea Rockall, presidenta de la Sociedad Europea de Radiología, ofreció una presentación magistral que llevó la conversación a un nuevo nivel.
Desde disputas de competencias hasta brechas en la formación, desde políticas de la UE hasta sostenibilidad, expuso toda la complejidad de integrar la IA en la atención clínica en Europa.
🎯 ¿La promesa de la IA? Detección temprana, predicción de riesgo multimodal, mejor apoyo a la toma de decisiones y flujos de trabajo más eficientes.
⚠️ ¿El desafío? Infraestructura fragmentada, sobrerregulación, emisiones de carbono y, sí, luchas de poder clínicas que amenazan con marginar a los radiólogos.
El mensaje de la profesora Rockall fue claro: la IA no se trata solo de herramientas, sino de confianza, formación y transformación. Se trata de que los radiólogos asuman el liderazgo, no solo interpretando resultados, sino ayudando a definir cómo se usa, evalúa y mejora la IA.

What does real-world AI adoption actually look like in Europe?
On day one of RAIS 2025, Professor Andrea Rockall, President of the European Society of Radiology, delivered a keynote that pushed the conversation forward in a big way.
From turf battles to training gaps, from EU policy to sustainability, she laid out the full complexity of integrating AI into clinical care across Europe.
🎯 The promise of AI? Early detection, multimodal risk prediction, better decision , and more efficient workflows.
⚠️ The challenge? Fragmented infrastructure, over-regulation, carbon emissions, and yes, clinical turf wars that risk sidelining radiologists.
Professor Rockall’s message was clear: AI isn’t just about tools, it’s about trust, training, and transformation. It’s about radiologists taking the lead, not just reading outputs, but helping shape how AI gets used, evaluated, and improved.
