A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending the Switzerland Camp of the 10th AIT Brazil 2025 program, funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI, Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação, and CNPq, and hosted by the Institute of Management in Latin America - University of St.Gallen . The program provided an enriching environment for knowledge exchange, strategic insights, and high-level networking. We are proud to share that Mabe Bio was among the startups recognized in the pitch competition, securing 3rd place. This achievement reinforces our commitment to innovation and the development of sustainable biomaterials. We extend our gratitude to the organizers Dr. Rocío Robinson-Wiedemann and Isabela Temístocles Gomes for an insightful and enriching week, as well as to all the participants for making this experience truly inspiring..

Os últimos dois dias foram de trabalho intenso, visitas e conexões com diversos atores do ecossistema de deeptechs. Começamos a jornada da Delegação Brasileira de Deeptechs com uma recepção na em Paris. Foi um momento importante para entender como diferentes players estão atuando para acelerar o desenvolvimento das deeptechs na França e quais oportunidades de colaboração existem. Também tivemos discussões sobre os desafios enfrentados pelas deeptechs em toda sua jornada, desde a fase inicial de pesquisa até a escalabilidade. Mais uma vez, ficou claro o quanto é essencial destravar processos para que essas empresas consigam superar o “vale da morte” e transformar ciência em inovação de impacto. Ontem, visitamos o cluster de inovação Paris-Saclay, um dos principais polos de ciência e tecnologia da Europa. Entre as visitas, conhecemos o Servier Research and Development Institute, um centro de P&D com 2 mil metros quadrados, que abriga cerca de 120 pesquisadores com espaço para 30 startups. Também conta com infraestrutura de ponta para acelerar descobertas em diversas áreas mas com 80% do foco na área da saúde. Foi incrível ver de perto o investimento dedicado à ciência e como a França está aberta a parcerias internacionais para impulsionar a inovação. We kicked off the journey of the Brazilian Deeptech Delegation with a reception at the Brazilian Embassy in Paris. It was an important moment to understand how different stakeholders are working to accelerate the development of deeptechs in and explore collaboration opportunities. We also had in-depth discussions about the challenges deeptechs face throughout their journey—from the initial research phase to scalability. Once again, it became clear how crucial it is to unlock processes that help these companies overcome the “valley of death” and turn science into impactful innovation. Yesterday, we visited the Paris-Saclay innovation cluster, one of Europe’s leading hubs for science and technology. Among the highlights, we explored the Servier Research and Development Institute, a 2,000-square-meter R&D center that hosts around 120 researchers and provides space for 30 startups. It also features cutting-edge infrastructure to accelerate discoveries across multiple fields, with 80% of its focus on healthcare. It was amazing to witness firsthand the investment dedicated to science and how open is to international partnerships to drive innovation. We continue learning, connecting, and building bridges to strengthen the deeptech ecosystem!

By honing their entrepreneurial skills and accelerating the growth of science-driven startups, #AIT10 continues to be a catalyst for innovation. This year, 11 Brazilian and 11 Swiss projects have been awarded full scholarships, enabling them to participate in training weeks in both 🇧🇷 Brazil and 🇨🇭 Switzerland.
