We’re super proud to share some exciting news: PhageLab has been selected as one of 30 global finalists in the 2025 WIPO Global Awards! Chosen from over 780 applicants across 95 countries, we’re honored to represent Chile on this international stage—recognizing how intellectual property fuels innovation with real-world impact. This milestone wouldn’t be possible without the incredible work of our IP team especially Mario Carrasco and the unwavering curiosity of our inventors. Thank you for pushing boundaries, every day. #WIPOGlobalAwards #Innovation #IP #OneHealth #ScienceWorks

Science can be fun too. This video offers a quick—and slightly more entertaining—look at the science behind the paper we recently published in #PoultryScienceJournal, a study we’re incredibly proud of. In it, we break down how we developed FÓRMIDA: a tailor-made bacteriophage cocktail designed to target only the E. coli strains that really matter in poultry production. #ScienceWorks #Scientifiaper #Poultry

Sharing our scientific work is always exciting. Our latest paper, “Development of a bacteriophage cocktail with high specificity against high-risk avian pathogenic Escherichia coli,” was published in #PoultryScienceJournal. It presents the development of FÓRMIDA—a precision bacteriophage cocktail designed to selectively target Avian Pathogenic E. coli (APEC), one of the leading bacterial threats in poultry production. This study reinforces the need for smarter, more sustainable tools to address bacterial challenges in animal health. In this video, part of the scientific team behind the publication shares how they approached the problem. Yesterday, at AMEVEA CHILE’s monthly gathering, our CTO Pablo Cifuentes shook things up with a straight-to-the-point message: Resistant bacteria are evolving. So must our tools. In his presentation “Using Bacteriophages and Data to Reduce Antimicrobial-Resistant Bacteria in Animal Health”, Pablo invited poultry veterinarians and avian pathology experts to think precision: where targeted phages and smart data tackle the real-world pressures of poultry production. Because controlling AMR isn’t just a challenge — it’s a shared responsibility. #PhageLab #OneHealth #Bacteriophages #AnimalHealth #AMR

This week, Revista del Campo El Mercurio highlighted the #biotech breakthroughs that are transforming agriculture and animal health—from Chile to the world. Amid innovations like drought-resistant crops and smarter composting, they spotlighted PhageLab’s technology: a tailor-made, data-powered solution that treats millions of birds each month against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. It’s a powerful reminder that science doesn’t live only in the lab—it’s in the field, shaping how we feed the world. #Biotechnology #ScienceWorks #PhageLab

Working on the future of poultry is not only rewarding—it can be fun, too. Last week, we had the chance to collaborate once again with Rinse Jan Boersma, Founder and Partner at Beluga Animal Health and long-time PhageLab ally, in a strategic workshop to map out our next big challenges. It was more than just a planning session. It was a space to exchange bold ideas, share insights, and strengthen a partnership that’s helping shape the next generation of precision solutions for animal health. At #PhageLab, we believe progress happens when knowledge is shared, challenged, and expanded—together. Because science is a team sport. #ScienceWorks #AnimalHealth #Bacteriophages
