  • At Scala Data Centers, sustainability is non-negotiable, and #EnablingTheFuture always starts with people.  In recent weeks, we deepened our commitment to education and social impact through two meaningful initiatives. First, we welcomed professors from Fatec Carapicuíba Oficial to our Tamboré Campus for a technical visit, where they had the opportunity to see first-hand how we design and operate state of the art digital infrastructure. Following the visit, our Operations team taught a guest lecture at the university for students in Systems Analysis, Game Development, and Design. These exchanges provided valuable new perspectives and encouraged students to explore the wide range of career opportunities in digital infrastructure and technology.     We also returned to SENAI Jandira to donate more than 160 biometric system components and deliver training sessions on how to apply them effectively in technical education. By extending the lifecycle of high-quality technologies and sharing the expertise of our Infrastructure team, we’re helping students gain hands-on experience with tools aligned to real market demands. As Julio Cezar de Oliveira, Practical Training Advisor in the Electroelectronics department at SENAI, highlighted: “This partnership strengthens the technical and practical training of our students.”     This donation is one of many actions under Re: Flow, our Circular Economy Program, which aims to refuse, rethink, reduce, reuse or recycle all materials resulting from the construction and operation of our data centers. More than an environmentally responsible initiative, Re:Flow is a platform for creating positive social impact by donating equipment and valuing resources that benefit institutions around our campuses.     💬 “We believe in the transformative power of education when combined with opportunity and technology. These initiatives reflect how we view sustainability at Scala: more than just environmental responsibility, a long-term investment in people and communities.”   — Ana Luiza Rodrigues, MBA, Sustainability Manager at Scala Data Centers     Scaling is never lonely. It’s a collective journey of knowledge, inclusion, and real impact. We’re proud to live this every single day — the Scala way. #ProudToBeScala

  • Our CTO, Agostinho Villela, took the stage at South Summit Brazil 2025 in Porto Alegre. He spoke at the RS INNOVATION STAGE, sharing insights into one of the most pressing global challenges, energy shortages, and how Brazil can lead the way with a revolutionary concept: powershoring. 💬 "Brazil has the opportunity to not only export clean energy, but to pair it with advanced computational capabilities, offering high-value energy services to the world," Villela stated. He also emphasized that "Powershoring represents a transformative opportunity for Brazil. By pairing our 90% renewable energy grid with cutting-edge infrastructure, we’re exporting clean, value-added energy services to a world in need." Agostinho’s participation reflected not only a vision, but a strategic reality already in motion. Since then, two landmark developments have reinforced Brazil’s position as the next global hub for digital infrastructure: ✅ The Ministry of Mines and Energy approved the connection of 5 GW of power to Scala AI City — the largest energy authorization ever granted for a data center project in Brazil. ✅ The Ministry of Finance announced full exemption from federal and import taxes for IT equipment used in data centers, increasing competitiveness and investment potential. Scala is doing the groundwork to make powershoring viable, sustainable, and scalable: transforming Brazil into a global leader in green, high-performance digital infrastructure. Scala AI City, our hyperscale campus in Eldorado do Sul, is the first gigawatt-scale AI district in Latin America and the only one with energy and land secured. We invite you to re-watch his participation and see how Scala AI City is redefining Brazil’s role on the international stage.    Content in Portuguese: https://bit.ly/4jyzb1T   Governo do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul South Summit #ProudToBeScala #TBT

  • At the Summit Brazil-USA, Rio Grande do Sul's Governor, Eduardo Leite highlighted the ordinance issued this week by Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy, which approves a 5 GW connection for Scala AI City to the National Grid. As he noted, “It will be the largest data center campus on the continent, located in Rio Grande do Sul. The land is secured, the substation is in place. With this power approval, we now work with the federal government to ensure the best data-protection regulations and attract these investments.” Scala Data Centers is proud to be enabling Brazil’s transition to become the world’s green AI processing hub. As the Governor aptly pointed out, “Our project is the only one that already has guaranteed energy infrastructure in place. Any other project will still require securing transmission and substation capacity, which takes time.” We’re #EnablingTheFuture by delivering hyperscale-ready infrastructure while also igniting the entire regional ecosystem: from local job creation and technical education initiatives to the strategic intelligence powered by the data we host.
