We are incredibly proud to announce that SP Ventures has been awarded the Environmental Responsibility prize at the 2025 LAVCA Deal Awards, with our investment in Gênica. More than a recognition for us and for Gênica, this award reinforces a core belief that drives our work: it is possible to deeply transform Latin American agriculture through innovation, science, and capital committed to climate impact. When we first invested in Gênica back in 2017, the company was still a bold idea born inside the Piracicaba science and agtech ecosystem — a shared vision between a professor and his student, aiming to translate cutting-edge microbiology into practical solutions for tropical farmers. Since then, Gênica has become one of the most remarkable success stories in global agtech: 1. Consistent profitability and a robust portfolio of proprietary products; 2. ed by leading strategic partners like Mosaic, Mitsubishi, Nitroquímica, and Banco do Brasil; 3. And, most importantly, delivering measurable, scalable, and replicable environmental impact. Through its Regenera platform, Gênica offers not only biological inputs but an integrated solution that s farmers in transitioning from chemical-intensive models to high-productivity, climate-resilient regenerative systems. In 2023 alone, all Gênica’s solutions: 1. Helped farmers avoid the use of over 900,000 tons of fertilizer and pesticides; 2. Prevented more than 700,000 tons of CO₂ emissions; 3. And impacted 8 million hectares of agricultural land. For SP Ventures, investing in biologicals was not just a market opportunity — it was a climate imperative. In a country like Brazil, where our farmers feed more than 1.5 billion people and stand on the frontlines of climate risk, regenerative agriculture cannot be the exception — it must become the standard. This award represents the convergence of strong financial returns, scientific innovation, and tangible environmental impact. It reminds us that venture capital can — and must — be a catalyst for structural change in critical sectors like agriculture. We thank LAVCA for this recognition and extend our deepest congratulations to the entire Gênica team — true visionaries, builders, and leaders of the regenerative future of farming. 🔗 The full article is linked in the comments. #spventuresteam Juliana De Podestá, Francisco Jardim, Felipe Guth, Ariadne Caballero, Alexandre Stephan, Rebecca Aguiar, Vanessa B., Henrique Zanuzzo, Pedro P. We’re excited to mark the beginning of AgVentures III with a bold step into the future of agfintech: leading a US$2.6 million investment round in Blooms, a Mexican startup redefining export financing for Latin America’s fruit and vegetable producers. Founded by Francisco Meré, Blooms leverages artificial intelligence to streamline payments, foreign exchange, and credit for ag exporters — unlocking working capital, minimizing transaction risk, and reducing food waste across the supply chain. Since beginning operations in late 2024, the company has already secured 20 clients in Mexico and is preparing to expand into Colombia, with plans to enter Brazil in 2026. This investment was led by our Partner Ariadne Caballero, and our Principal in México, Vanessa B.. This round brought together a top-tier group of investors — including Angel Ventures, The Yield Lab LATAM, Eqwow Ventures, GLOCAL LATAM, and Mercy Corps Ventures — to Blooms on its journey to make agricultural exports more intelligent, inclusive, and climate-aligned. At SP Ventures, we view Blooms as a key piece of the nearshoring puzzle — reconnecting regional trade routes through smarter infrastructure. This investment reflects our commitment to building climate-resilient food systems and to backing founders who know how to make that vision a reality. Congratulations to Paco Meré and the entire Blooms team on this new chapter! 🔗 The full article is linked in the comments. #spventuresteam Francisco Jardim, Ariadne Caballero, Felipe Guth, Alexandre Stephan, Vanessa B., Rebecca Aguiar, Pedro P. Voices of Climate Ag – Ep. 2 In this second edition of Voices of Climate Ag, Ariadne Caballero, our partner at SP Ventures explores one of the most important — and often overlooked — shifts in the climate and food conversation: the capital now flowing into the Global South. According to the latest AgFunder report, while global agrifoodtech investment fell by 4% last year, funding in developing markets grew by 63%. Mexico grew 250%, India raised over $2.5B, and Latin America now s for 23% of all global agrifoodtech investment. These aren’t just numbers — they’re signals that the Global South is no longer catching up. It’s leading. To go deeper, we spoke with Mark Kahn, Managing Partner at Omnivore and one of the sharpest voices in global AgTech. “The Global South is what’s going to save AgTech,” Mark shared. “We’re building real solutions for real problems, grounded in biology, fintech, and circular economy models. Not hype.” At SP Ventures, we see this every day — from smallholder fintech in Mexico, to biologicals in Argentina, to data-powered machinery in Brazil. These innovations aren’t regional plays. They’re part of a global, systemic shift in where scalable, science-based solutions are being built. A big thank-you to Mark for ing us and for all the groundbreaking work across India and beyond. 🎧 Episode 2 of Voices of Climate Ag is now live — a series by SP Ventures, curated by our partner Ari, spotlighting the people and ideas reshaping the future of food and climate from the ground up. • Reflections from IFA Monaco 2025 This week, our founder and managing partner Francisco Jardim ed over 1,300 global leaders at the IFA Annual Summit 2025 in Monaco. The event was a powerful reminder of the critical role the fertilizer industry plays in global food security—particularly for countries like Brazil, which feeds over 1 billion people and imports more than 80% of its fertilizer needs. Key reflections from the event: 🔹 Fertilizer and food security are deeply intertwined. The last five years have shown how vulnerable supply chains can jeopardize agricultural resilience and global stability. 🔹 Under the leadership of Alzbeta Klein, CFA has become a global reference in integrating sustainability and innovation—like biologics, green/blue ammonia, and precision nutrition—into discussions that remain grounded in economic scalability and farmer affordability. 🔹 IFA is now a true platform for inclusive collaboration. From startups to policymakers, from Latin America to Asia and Africa, diverse voices are shaping the future of the industry. At SP Ventures, we believe that transforming agriculture into a more profitable, sustainable, and resilient activity requires engaging in these global conversations. That’s why we’re proud to be part of IFA’s mission and encourage all agri-innovators—startups and corporates alike—to explore hip. For those interested, we recommend reaching out to Annie COHEN, Head of hip at IFA. Let’s collaborate to build a more sustainable and food-secure future. #IFA2025 #AgricultureInnovation #FoodSecurity #Sustainability #SPVentures #GlobalCollaboration #biologics #agfintech #agtechbrazil #agtechlatam

This year, Agrishow - Feira de Tecnologia Agrícola em Ação celebrated its 30th edition, showcasing over 800 exhibitors from around the globe on a 520,000 square meter area — that’s more than 50 football fields! As Latin America’s biggest agtech and machinery showcase, the event brought together the latest in agricultural innovations, from AI-powered drones to cutting-edge equipment designed to boost productivity and sustainability on farms of all sizes. Our team , Vanessa B., Henrique Zanuzzo, and Pedro P. Corrêa Jábali, had the privilege of attending the event and sharing key takeaways from this vibrant experience: Key Insights from Our Team: "Just returned from Agrishow 2025 – Latin America’s biggest agtech and machinery event – and the message couldn’t be clearer: innovation without access to financing leaves many farmers behind." In Brazil, as one of the world’s largest exporters of soy, corn, coffee, and meat, the ag machinery industry, empowered by AI, connectivity, and automation, is pushing large-scale producers to new heights of efficiency and sustainability. With investments from R&D and government-backed institutions like Embrapa and Banco do Brasil, alongside startups like Agrolend and Traive, Brazil remains a powerhouse in global commodities. However, the gap is widening. In Mexico and across Spanish-speaking Latin America, the lack of access to working capital, tailored lending, and scalable agtech for small and medium-sized producers is a significant challenge. If the agricultural sector is a race, Brazil is on a turbo-charged tractor, while much of the region is still walking or building the road as they go. At SP Ventures, we are proud to the next wave of agfintechs, climate-tech, and biotech startups transforming agriculture into an investable, dynamic, and high-return sector—just as fintech once was. This is evident in the success stories of Gênica, Decoy, Puna Bio, and Promip. Bridging the financing gap is not just an economic necessity, it’s a climate imperative too. Investing in climate-smart technologies like precision irrigation and regenerative practices can drastically reduce GHG emissions from agriculture. But for widespread adoption, we need more financial inclusion and localized innovation. The future of agriculture depends on solutions tailored for mid-sized and emerging farmers, more VC-backed agfintechs, and deeper collaboration between tech, finance, and field experts. We are grateful for the opportunity to attend Agrishow alongside such an incredible team and leave with new insights into how we can make a difference in shaping the future of agriculture. #Agrishow2025 #AgTech #AgFintech #SPVentures #Sustainability #Innovation #InvestingInTheFuture #ClimateTech #Agriculture #VentureCapital #Brazil #LatinAmerica

An intense and inspiring week for the innovation ecosystem! This week, SP Ventures proudly took part in key initiatives that reinforce our commitment to a more sustainable, diverse, and connected future. Rebecca Aguiar represented us at Brazil at Silicon Valley and the Climate Week in San Francisco, while Ariadne Caballero ed the closing event of the first edition of Empower Her, by WeInvest LatAm, in São Paulo. At Brazil at Silicon Valley, we followed discussions that bridge innovation, technology, and Brazil. The event’s mission is to connect top Brazilian talent with the global tech ecosystem, driving high-impact solutions to some of the country’s biggest challenges. This vision is deeply aligned with SP Ventures’ investment thesis: we believe that transforming Brazil means empowering local entrepreneurs with a global outlook — especially in strategic sectors like agriculture and climate. During Climate Week in San Francisco, we engaged in critical conversations around biodiversity, nature-based solutions, and the role of capital in building a regenerative future. As a fund focused on AgFoodTech and Climatech in Latin America, we reaffirmed our conviction that agriculture is central to fighting climate change — and that unlocking its full potential requires the integration of science, data, and capital. Participating in global events like this strengthens our international connections and fuels the development of new investment theses. To round off the week, we had the privilege of celebrating the conclusion of the first edition of Empower Her, an initiative led by WeInvest LatAm to tackle the longstanding challenge of unequal access to capital for women founders. Together with Brazilian ambassadors Carolina Strobel and Maria Rita Spina Bueno, we helped foster a space for open dialogue, strategic connections, and real conversations about the fundraising journey. At SP Ventures, diversity and transparency are essential pillars in building a strong and inclusive innovation ecosystem. Empower Her is a perfect reflection of what we stand for: more access, more honesty, and more opportunities for purpose-driven entrepreneurs. We remain committed to driving innovation with real impact. Here’s to more connections, more transformation, and more entrepreneurs — women and men — shaping the future of Latin America. #spventures #bsv #climateweekSF #weinvest #agfoodclimatech
